Vallis Clausa undertakes to protect the privacy of Users of the Site and the confidentiality of the information provided by the Users through the Site.

All information collected from Users in connection with their use of the Site is considered by Vallis Clausa to be confidential.

This personal data policy (hereinafter “Personal Data Policy”) sets out and organises the terms and conditions under which Vallis Clausa collects and uses your data, through the Products and Services offered on the www.moulin-vallisclausa.com site.

Our personal data policy complies with the Information Technology and Freedom Act (Act No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978, as amended) and with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016).

Vallis Clausa reserves the right to change the Personal Data Policy. However, any change shall be subject to your prior approval. 

 

PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION

 

Vallis Clausa may collect your personal data. 

These are data about you as a natural person, that you communicate when making a purchase on the Site, by sending letters or emails to Vallis Clausa, or that Vallis Clausa collects during your visit on the Site and which, regardless of its nature, allows it to identify you, directly or otherwise (hereinafter referred to together as “Personal Data”). 

When the User is asked to disclose personal data through the Site, Vallis Clausa indicates on the relevant form the personal data that the User must disclose in order to benefit from the service in question. Where communication of personal data is optional, the User may refrain from communicating the requested data but still benefit from the service. 

The personal data collected by Vallis Clausa on the Site are needed by it to ensure the successful completion of the transactions concluded through the Site, the processing and shipment of orders, to manage the other services offered on the Site, manage online requests for information and marketing messages to those persons who have agreed to receive this type of information (voluntary registration for emails) and to generally improve the services offered to the Users.

Vallis Clausa does not collect the bank card details of Customers which are processed directly by its financial partners, Paypal and Stripe. Stripe is Level 1 certified for PCI service providers. This is the strictest level of certification available in the payments industry. Stripe uses the HTTPS (TLS) protocol to encrypt credit card details. PayPal protects information thanks to the SSL protocol with a 168-bit encryption key length.

Your bank details never appear on our Site and we do not have access to them.

You undertake to provide Vallis Clausa with accurate and up-to-date Personal Data. Vallis Clausa disclaims any liability if this obligation is not met. Vallis Clausa reserves the right to seek your liability for any harm that may arise therefrom.

 

PERSONAL DATA USES AND RETENTION PERIOD

 

Processing purposes

The Personal Data collected are used exclusively for the Products and Services offered on the Site, excluding any other purpose. 

The information you provide on the Site allows Vallis Clausa to: process and ship your orders, process your questions or requests for information, send you, subject to your agreement, messages of an advertising or commercial canvassing nature, send you the Newsletter to which you have subscribed, inform you about products and services offered by Vallis Clausa and inform you about events organised by Vallis Clausa.

 

Processing

The Personal Data collected shall undergo automated processing for technical and statistical purposes as part of management of the Site and generally to improve the products and services offered on it.

Vallis Clausa never communicates Users’ Personal Data to third parties, except to its data processors and solely for the purpose of providing the services of the Site to the said Users. These data processors are exclusively: the financial institutions Paypal and Stripe which have access to customers’ bank details for the purposes of the transactions in which they intervene through the Site. The company OVH which provides a storage service for the data communicated by Customers on the Site, and companies specialised in emailing for the purposes of sending written communications to the Members. 

Vallis Clausa may also communicate Customers’ Personal Data to any administrative or judicial authority, as well as to its external advisers subject to the obligation of professional secrecy pursuant to Article 226-13 of the Penal Code.

 

Retention period

Personal Data are retained throughout the term of the contractual relationship between the Customer and Vallis Clausa and then for a period of 6 years from the end of the relationship (see the next paragraph however – “Cookies”).

 

COOKIES

 

When you visit the Site, information about your browsing may be stored in files called “cookies”, installed on your computer device. 

These cookies store information about the browsing of your computer device on our Site (pages visited, viewing date and time, etc.), allowing them to be read during your subsequent visits to make it easier for you to browse our Site.

Your prior consent is obtained for the use of cookies (cookies connected to operations relating to advertising; social media cookies created by social media sharing buttons where they collect personal data without the consent of the data subjects; some audience measurement cookies). 

If your consent is not obtained for certain cookies (“shopping cart”, “session IDs” cookies; authentication cookies; certain audience measurement analysis solutions (analytics); customisation of the user interface such as the choice of presentation), you can always refuse cookies being installed on your computer’s hard drive by changing your browser settings.

Cookies are stored by VALLIS CLAUSA only. The retention period for cookies is 13 months.

 

PERSONAL DATA SECURITY

 

Vallis Clausa makes its best efforts to protect Customers’ Personal Data from damage, loss, diversion, intrusion, disclosure, alteration or destruction. 

Vallis Clausa’s information systems have, in particular, a data encryption system and a software protection mechanism (SSL - Secure Socket Layer certificate) on the entire Site. Electronic backup procedures of the data collected on the Site are used in accordance with French legislation in force relating to personal data protection.

Data hosting is performed by the company OVH which sets up conditions for securing the servers.

Members of Vallis Clausa staff who, because of their work, may have access to your Personal Data are subject to a strict confidentiality obligation.

Despite its best efforts to secure your Personal Data, Vallis Clausa does not control the risks associated with the operation of the Internet and draws your attention to the possibility of risks in terms of occasional loss of data or privacy breaches of data conveyed over this network. The information offered on the Site may be interrupted in the event of force majeure or cases outside of Vallis Clausa’s control or circumstances for which it is not responsible.

 

RIGHT OF ACCESS, RECTIFICATION, OBJECTION AND PORTABILITY

  

Right of access and rectification

You have a right of access to and rectification of your Personal Data where such data are processed.

As such, you may:

  - access all information about you,

 - become aware of the source of information about you,

 - access the information which Vallis Clausa has used to make a decision about you,

 - obtain a copy of it (fees not exceeding the cost of reproduction may be requested),

 - demand that your data, as the case may be, are corrected, completed, updated or erased.

 

Right of objection

You also have the right to:

  - object to your contact information being reused for solicitation purposes and canvassing operations in particular, when purchasing the products and services offered on the www.moulin-vallisclausa.com Site; 

- object to, for legitimate reasons, these data being processed, except in response to a legal obligation.

 

Right to portability

The right to portability gives you the ability to retrieve your Personal Data in an open, machine-readable format. You may thereby store or transfer them easily from one information system to another, for reuse for personal purposes.
